Operational details for Ohio
Which compliance standards apply?
Kiln-dried hardwood meets NWPCA Uniform Standard for Wood Pallets; moisture content verified <19% at dispatch, blade-cut deck boards, no visible bark.
Ohio regulatory context
Port of Cleveland and Port of Toledo Great Lakes shipping requires ISPM-15 documentation for export loads to Canada; we coordinate with Great Lakes Stevedoring and Midwest Terminals for certified loads.
Ohio Department of Transportation oversize-load permits require pre-approved routing for pallet shipments above 80,000 lb GVW; our DOT-permitted carriers handle I-70, I-71, and I-75 corridor routing.
What are the pallet specifications?
Pallet weight: new GMA averages 38-42 lb per unit; recycled Grade A averages 35-39 lb; lighter chemical-industry 40x40 pallets weigh 28-32 lb; freight estimation should use 40 lb/pallet for inbound planning.
48x40 GMA load capacity is 2,800 lb racked (face-loaded), 4,600 lb static, and 2,500 lb dynamic per ASME MH1 2016; deck board span 3.5 inches; deflection under rated load <0.5 inch.
Delivery and logistics
Live-load operations bring the trailer to your dock for a 90-minute window; loader/unloader provided; suited to customers without dedicated dock space or with intermittent volume.
Customer use case
E-commerce fulfillment centers around Orlando and Lakeland use mixed-SKU GMA pallets for inbound, plus pallets-with-cardboard for outbound to last-mile carriers; we coordinate delivery with their dock-scheduling system (FreightSmart, DOCK365).
How are these pallets priced?
Delivery freight runs $250-450 per truckload (53-foot) within 75 miles of a yard; longer hauls priced at $2.50-3.50 per loaded mile; flatbed loads premium 10-15%.
Sustainability
Lumber sourcing prioritizes regional Southeast US hardwood mills (FL, AL, GA, MS); reduces transport carbon vs Pacific Northwest stock; supports regional logging economies.
