Operational details for Ohio
Which compliance standards apply?
Heat-treatment chamber maintained at 56C core for 30 minutes per ISPM-15 Annex 1; each load shipped with a treatment certificate signed by a USDA-registered inspector.
Ohio regulatory context
Ohio EPA Division of Materials and Waste Management regulates wood pallet recycling under OAC 3745-27; our partner facilities in Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati maintain OEPA registration for return-stream service.
Ohio Department of Transportation oversize-load permits require pre-approved routing for pallet shipments above 80,000 lb GVW; our DOT-permitted carriers handle I-70, I-71, and I-75 corridor routing.
What are the pallet specifications?
Pallet weight: new GMA averages 38-42 lb per unit; recycled Grade A averages 35-39 lb; lighter chemical-industry 40x40 pallets weigh 28-32 lb; freight estimation should use 40 lb/pallet for inbound planning.
Lumber spec for new GMA stock: mixed hardwood (oak, maple, ash, hickory) with minimum 600 SG (specific gravity); kiln dried to <19% moisture; visible defects limited to wane on outer 1/3 of deck board only.
Delivery and logistics
Dry-van loads handle weather-sensitive pallet stock and food-grade freight; sealed loads with bill-of-lading documentation; supports DOT-required commercial routing.
Customer use case
Construction supply yards (Home Depot, Lowe's distribution) move lumber and hardware on 48x40 GMA in 5,000+ pallet weekly cycles; we supply both the inbound load pallets and the return-stream recycled stock.
How are these pallets priced?
Net 30 terms standard for established customers with credit approval; Net 15 or COD for first three orders; credit card and ACH accepted for spot orders.
Sustainability
Pallet recycling diverts ~80% of returned stock from landfill; recycled pallets carry 60-70% lower embodied carbon than new GMA; our annual sustainability report documents tons diverted per customer.
